Message from the Editor-in-Chief

Welcome to the Cornell Policy Review!

Hello, my name is Maddie Miele, and I’m the Editor-in-Chief for the 2025-2026 academic year. I grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to attending Cornell, I completed my undergraduate studies in journalism at Ithaca College. As a Master of Public Administration student, I am specializing in environmental policy with strong interests in climate adaptation and mitigation.

Having worked with Cornell Policy Review writers last year, I am excited to step into this leadership role alongside an incredible Senior Editorial Board. Our mission at the Cornell Policy Review is to create meaningful policy discussions across diverse topics and formats. We strive to be a platform where students and professionals can share research and engage with communities.

The Cornell Policy Review is truly a team effort and is operated by a collaborative group of students studying varied policy areas. Our contributors take from their interests and expertise to produce analyses, making the Cornell Policy Review a dynamic and educational platform.

In today’s fast-paced world, producing thoughtful, impactful work is more important than ever. Amid the complexity of policies and data, it is essential to remember that policies affect real people. We aim to keep this perspective throughout our work while we analyze critical issues.

As the Cornell Policy Review continues to develop as a peer-reviewed journal, I invite readers to engage with our website and social media platforms to access our range of content. I encourage you to connect with the dedicated team who are producing thoughtful work. We look forward to building from our current community of engaged readers and contributors.

Thank you for your interest in The Cornell Policy Review.

Sincerely,

Madeline (Maddie) Miele
Editor-in-Chief
