Since World War II, Americans have used homeownership as a popular means to build wealth through home equity and rising property values. Yet, Black Americans have been historically excluded from this popular wealth accumulation tool.
In 2018, for the first time since 2014, life expectancy in the United States rose. The life expectancy is now “78.7 years for the total U.S. population — an increase of 0.1 years from 78.6 years in 2017.”
